Description:When department store soda jerk Peggy Evans (Lana Turner) has a run-in with her now boss, Bob Stuart (Robert Young), she decides to chuck her small-town life and try her luck in the big city. She leaves a note which everyone assumes is a suicide note. They hold Bob responsible, and he loses his job. Meanwhile, Peggy has hit upon a scheme to pretend she has amnesia and that she's the long-lost daughter of millionaire Cornelius Burden (Walter Brennan). Burden falls for it and believes she's his daughter Carol. He squires her around town and the story makes all the papers. Then Bob shows up. Unable to convince anyone that Carol is really Peggy, he pretends she's his wife and takes her back home. Along the way, Peggy falls for Bob and admits who she really is. Cornelius shows up. Peggy tries to confess, but by this time the millionaire loves her and continues to accept her as his daughter. Peggy and Bob get married.

Review - Slightly Dangerous

Weird example of a movie that contains lots of good actors, and even good characters, but a ridiculous premise, bad dialog, and a story that makes no sense. Another notable thing. When Peggy and Bob end up in a hotel room together, pretending to be married, the assumption is that Bob will do the honorable thing and NOT go to bed with her even though she pretends to want him to. The past is a different planet. Lana Turner falls into the same category for me as Kim Novak. I can't for the life of me decide if I find her attractive or not.
