I liked Douglas in his role, Sothern less in hers. The movie was sorta flat.

| Description: | Jeff Seabrook (Melvyn Douglas) is a reporter whose assignments take him away from his wife Julia (Ann Sothern) for long stretches. Tired of being alone, Julia resumes her career as a musician and joins an all-girl orchestra. She decides to divorce Jeff and attracts two suitors, her orchestra director and a music critic. When Jeff comes home and finds out, he pleads, then stubbornly refuses to leave the house, then tries to win Julia back by being her best friend, then kidnaps her for a weekend at an island cabin. Julia goes through with the divorce, but soon regrets it. Meanwhile, Jeff is called up to serve in the WWII overseas. A sympathetic visiting conductor schedules a concert for Julia's orchestra at Jeff's camp and they manage to confess their love for each other across a crowded theater. |
