Description:Lisa Walker (Mary Stuart Masterson) was abandoned as a child and raised by an abusive stepdad. She works as an investment banker, but has no social life apart from her friend Kim (Pamela Adlon). She's crying in loneliness in her window one night and is seen by florist Lewis Farrell (Christian Slater). He sends her flowers, which surprises her because there's nobody in her life likely to do that. She tracks down Lewis, and they hit it off. After dating for several months, he brings her home to meet his family at Christmas. It's stressful to her because she has no family, and when he proposes in front of everyone, she flees. Months later, after realizing how much she misses him, she brings him flowers and they reconnect.

Review - Bed of Roses

Slow-moving, with no real drama. Masterson's character wasn't interesting, and so I didn't really care what happened to her. The only really good role in the film was that of the friend Kim, who was plucky and determined and caring. Lewis would have been much better off with her.
