Review - Week-End at the Waldorf
Interesting concept and some good characters, but some of the plots were pretty ridiculous.

| Description: | Several events that happen at the N.Y. hotel over a weekend. War correspondent Chip Collyer (Walter Pidgeon), while chasing down a story about Martin Edley (Edward Arnold), a noted scam artist, accidentally ends up in the room of actress Irene Malvern (Ginger Rogers). Irene lives a lonely life and is depressed. She wants him out of her room, but then, to get out of a pickle, she introduces Chip as her husband. Word gets out and confusion about their status gets around the hotel and into the papers. Chip, who really likes Irene, plays it up, but then relents. But by then Irene realizes she loves him, and they end up together. Meanwhile, Captain James Hollis (Van Johnson) is facing surgery to remove shrapnel near his heart. The odds are that he will die. He meets hotel stenographer Bunny Smith (Lana Turner) and asks her out on what he thinks is his final weekend. But she's been made an offer by Edley, who offers her the lifestyle she's always dreamed of. In the end, Edley is exposed as a scam and Bunny decides to go with James to the hospital and then, if he lives, to his hometown with him. |
