Reviews for The Party
Review - Party, The
No plot, just chaos, but since it's Peter Sellers, it works. It was an odd choice to have him play an Indian, but otherwise it was ... a trip.

| Description: | When Indian actor Hrundi Bakshi (Peter Sellers) accidentally blows up a movie set, he's fired and blacklisted. Or he's supposed to be. Instead his name ends up on the invite list for a party at the head of the studio's house. Nobody knows who he is as he wanders around the party being uncomfortably awkward and creating disaster after disaster. The chaos is added to by a drunk waiter and the host's daughter who brings home her college friends and a baby elephant. One party goer, Michele (Claudine Longet) is trying to fend off a handsy producer. Hrundi comes to her rescue and the two hit it off, having fun and being oblivious to the chaos, for the rest of the evening. Only at the very end of the party does the host find out Hrundi is the guy he intended to blacklist. |
