Description:Wes Tancred (Richard Egan), gunman, falsely gets a bad rap for shooting a man in the back. He takes on the assumed name of John Baily and looks for a place to settle. He takes a job at a stage stop. When gunmen kill the operator, Tancred kills them and then takes the operator's son to Table Rock, where his aunt and uncle live. His uncle (Cameron Mitchell), the sheriff, is a frightened man due to a beating by cowpunchers who visit the town every year. The sheriff's wife, Lorna (Dorothy Malone) and Tancred are attracted to each other, which causes tension. Then the cowpunchers arrive. The sheriff tries to keep them quiet, but one of them shoots a local farmer and is put on trial. He's about to get away with a plea of self defense when Tancred speaks up and convinces the sheriff to show some nerve. A local saloon keeper, on the side of the cowpunchers, hires a gunman to kill the sheriff. Tancred kills the gunman, and then the sheriff kills the saloon keeper who was about to shoot Tancred in the back. When the cowpunchers come to free their buddy from jail, the sheriff, Tancred, and the town folk drive them out of town. Tancred takes off to look for another place to live.

Review - Tension at Table Rock

Not an amazing movie, but also not bad. I was in the mood for a Western, so it kept my attention, and I liked it. All the same, it's probably not a movie I'd bother watching again. Unless I forget I watched it before.
