Description:Tom (Tom Poston) is asked by a friend to deliver a new car to Fenn Hall, his family's estate. When Tom gets there, he finds his friend dead. The other members of the family, all very odd, insist that he stay the night because of the weather. The family gathers each night at midnight — if any member doesn't show up, he/she loses a chance to get the huge fortune passed down from a pirate ancestor. Other members of the family begin dying off one by one. Tom finds himself drawn to Cecily (Janette Scott), but it turns out she's the murder, and she's wired every clock in the house with explosives. Tom manages to defuse them all and blow up Cecily in the process. The other family members want him to stay around, but he insists on leaving — only to fall through a trap door back into the basement.

Reviews for The Old Dark House

Review - Old Dark House, The

Not nearly funny enough to be a comedy. Not nearly scary enough to be a horror film. And not nearly mysterious enough to be a mystery. It was just a silly, pointless waste of an hour or so.
