Description:Famous conductor Sir Alfred (Rex Harrison) asks his brother-in-law August (Rudy Vallee) to look after his wife Daphne (Linda Darnell) while he goes on tour. Misunderstanding, August hires a private detective to follow Daphne. When Alfred gets back and hears what August did, he gets angry and refuses to look at the detective's report. He then goes to the agency and demands that all copies of it be destroyed. In the process, he looks at it and sees that Daphne, dressed in a negligee, went to the room of Alfred's secretary Tony and stayed there for 38 minutes. Alfred believes Daphne cheated on him. In the concert that night, during three pieces of music, he has three different fantasies. In the first, he slits Daphne's throat and frames Tony for it. In the second, he forgives her and writes her a huge check to run off with Tony. In the third, he challenges Tony to Russian roulette but ends up killing himself. After the concert, he rushes home and tries to carry out the first of his fantasies, but nothing goes as planned, the apartment ends up a disaster, and when Daphne gets home, she finds him a wreck. He runs around like a nut and hurts himself. She cares for him, and he realizes she does love him. Then she happens to tell him about the night in the detective's report — she went to Tony's room looking for her sister whom she suspected of having an affair, then stayed there because she saw the detective and didn't want to be seen in another man's room. Alfred forgives her and takes her dancing.

Review - Unfaithfully Yours

Parts of the movie were amusing — especially at the end when Harrison was stumbling around his apartment trying to carry out his plot but just breaking things and falling over. The fantasies got a little dark — it was pretty hard to root for Harrison's Alfred after seeing him even contemplating cutting his wife's throat.
