Description:A spacecraft transporting 5,000 colonists on a 128-year journey to another planet is hit by a meteor and damaged. The incident causes one of the passenger sleeping pods to open prematurely. Jim Preston (Chris Pratt), an engineer, finds himself alone on the giant ship. His only companion is a robot bartender, Arthur (Michael Sheen). After a year of solitude, and realizing that he'll be alone the rest of his life, Jim contemplates suicide. But then he sees Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) in her pod. He looks up her bio information, which includes videos of her on earth, and falls in love. Finally, he opens her pod but hides the fact that he did it. After adjusting to the fact that she will die on the ship, she and Jim fall in love. But Arthur tells her what Jim did, and she hates him. The damage that woke Jim continues to affect the ship. Gus (Laurence Fishburne), a crew member, has his pod malfunction. He helps Jim figure out what's wrong, but he dies from being woken too soon. Jim has to exit the ship to fix the problem. Aurora has to stay inside to open a door. The exercise works so far as the ship is concerned, but Jim is knocked out and disconnected. He's floating off in to space, but Aurora, who realizes that she loves him, goes out and just manages to grab his tether and bring him in and save his life. The spend the rest of their lives together on the ship, happy and in love and make the best of it. When the ship finally reaches the colony planet, the crew wakes up to find the things Jim and Aurora did to make a happy life together.

Review - Passengers

The science wouldn't stand up to much scrutiny, I'm sure, but I enjoyed the story and liked the two leads.
