| Description: | Debbie (Reese Witherspoon) and Peter (Ashton Kutcher) had a fling once and then became good friends who talk regularly even though they live on opposite sides of the country. Debbie wanted to be an editor, but she got married (and divorced) and has a kid, Jack, that she over-protects. Peter wanted to be a writer, but he has a boring consulting job and pursues a string of women. Debbie needs to go to New York for a class. Peter goes to L.A. to watch Jack. They stay in each other's houses and find out each other's secrets, including the fact that they've loved each other all along. Peter moves to L.A. and becomes Jack's dad and a published writer. Debbie becomes an editor. |
