Description:Before work one day, Theodore (Gene Wilder) sees Charlotte (Kelly LeBrock), dancing on an air vent, and becomes obsessed. He has a wife, two daughters, and a happy life, but he impulsively asks Charlotte out to dinner. Or he thinks he does. He is actually on the phone with a co-worker (Gilda Radner), who, when Theodore doesn't show up, finds various petty ways to get revenge. Meanwhile, Theodore finds other ways of meeting Charlotte. She finally agrees to go out with him, but things never go right — his grandmother throws him a surprise birthday party, his play gets re-routed, Charlotte's husband comes home unexpectedly. Theodore finds himself on a high ledge outside Charlotte's apartment and on the news. He realizes that he was throwing his whole life away for a quick affair. The movie ends with him jumping into the firemen's net.
