Description:Englishman Jonathan Tibbs (Kenneth More) travels to the American west to sell guns for his father's firm. On his way to the town of Fractured Jaw, his stage is attacked by Indians. Jonathan leaves the stage and walks up behind the chief, demanding his tomahawk. Then he gives it right back, for which the chief adopts Jonathan into the tribe. Fractured Jaw is the battleground in a range war. Both ranchers think he's gunman hired by the other ranch. The mayor appoints Jonathan sheriff, expecting him to be killed at any time. Jonathan falls for night club owner/singer Kate (Jayne Mansfield), who falls in love with him. It all comes to head when the two ranches combine to kill Jonathan, but he foils the plot by hiring the entire Indian tribe as his deputies. The ranchers give up their range war, and Jonathan marries Kate.

Review - Sheriff of Fractured Jaw, the

A fish-out-of-water story about an Englishman who deals with difficulties with a stiff upper lip and a startling naivete. It's pretty clear that Mansfield wasn't hired for her acting talent or her ability to do accents. In all, it was too silly to take seriously but not funny enough to take humorously.
