Review - Rawhide Years, The
Nothing special. Maybe I was just in the mood for a superficial movie with some interesting characters.

| Description: | Riverboat gambler Ben (Tony Curtis) is charged with a murder he didn't commit when bandits board the boat and kill rancher Matt Comfort. Ben gets out of Galena, promising his girl Zoe (Colleen Miller) that he'll return for her. He becomes a cowboy and earns enough money to buy a ranch, so he returns to Galena. Along the way, he is saddled with the company of Rick (Arthur Kennedy), con man and thief, who knows Ben has money. But in time, Ben and Rick become friends and get each other out of jams. Back in Galena after three years, Ben discovers that Zoe has taken up with saloon owner Boucher. When Boucher attacks Ben for his attention to Zoe, Ben recognizes him as one of the bandits who robbed the riverboat years before. Ben goes to Comfort's brother's house for help but soon discovers he was in on the killing of his brother. Boucher arrives with his gang, and Rick is caught. The gang tries to hang him in town but Ben gets the drop on Boucher and holds everyone until the sheriff arrives. Papers in Boucher's possession prove the guilt of him and Comfort's brother and Ben's innocence. Ben heads off to buy a ranch with Zoe. Rick, a known horse thief, is allowed to leave town fast—which he does on Ben's horse. |
