He meets Audrey (Ann-Margret), a bar tender, who immediately responds to his flirting. The begin an affair, which quickly becomes public. Harry decides he wants to leave, so he moves into an apartment. Sunny (Amy Madigan), the middle child, is angry with him. Kate is just sort of shocked. Their youngest daughter, Helen (Ally Sheedy) decides to scrap her plans for college and get married so she and her husband can move in with Kate. Harry shows up for Helen's wedding, and he spends time looking longingly at his family, but he isn't invited to the reception, so he walks off alone.

Review - Twice in a Lifetime

Not sure why this movie was made. There was no resolution. Harry let his marriage get dull (with help from Kate). Audrey was willing to explore the city and go to football games with him, and the sex was good, so he left. Neither Harry, Kate, or Audrey seemed to have any sort of life. You root for Harry to come to his senses, but he doesn't. I supposed it's realistic, but it's dull and depressing.
