Description:Follows the plot of the novel, supposedly closer than the 1946 version. Drifter Frank Chambers (Jack Nicholson) gets work at a diner/gas station owned by Nick Papadakis (John Colicos). Frank begins an affair with Nick's much-younger wife, Cora (Jessica Lange), who only married Nick to get out of poverty. Nick and Cora try to kill Nick, but fail. But when Nick returns to the diner after his recovery, they try again — this time by rolling his car down a hill. The police charge them with murder, but a sleazy lawyer gets them off. They go back to the diner, but at first they don't get along. Then Cora finds out she's pregnant. Frank marries her, but on the way home from the wedding, they begin kissing and get in an accident that kills Cora.

Review - Postman Always Rings Twice, The

Jack Nicholson is miscast in any role other than a psycho. I find it impossible that any woman would find him attractive. And while Lange looks nice in this movie, I've always found her off-putting too. Of course, neither of their characters were worth rooting for, which gave me no reason to care about the movie.
