| Description: | Ben (Glenn Ford) and Howdy (Henry Fonda) are two cowboys who work busting broncos and rounding cattle for Jim Ed Love (Chill Wills). Each year they intend to spend their money on changing lifestyles, but they keep wasting it and ending up back with Jim Ed. One of the horses they're supposed to break is a roan that refuses to be broken. After a summer and a winter with the horse, the two decide to make money by beating rodeo riders they can't ride him. They make a pile of money, but then the roan plays dead. When Ben is about to shoot him, the roan jumps up and destroys the rodeo stable, costing the two men all the money they'd made and more — putting them in debt to, and working for, Jim Ed. |
